"Desde que comenzó la emergencia sanitaria 22 países de América han cerrado o cerraron sus fronteras; además otros países excluyeron de sus programas de apoyo emergente a la población migrante no regularizada. En otros países se suspendieron temporalmente los trámites de peticiones de asilo y refugio.
Éstas, entre otras limitaciones a sus derechos, son las consecuencias de las respuestas de los gobiernos de América Latina a la emergencia sanitaria, según un recuento realizado por once grupos de investigación en el continente y que se publica periódicamente en el sitio (In)movilidad en las Américas, coordinado por Soledad Álvarez, de la Universidad de Houston. ..."
