A mediados de marzo de 2020, prácticamente todos los países del continente se declararon en emergencia sanitaria, cerraron sus fronteras y adoptaron una serie de medidas excepcionales para provocar la inmovilidad forzada que promete contender al virus. Fue entonces cuando más de 30 investigadorxs de las Américas, interesados analítica y políticamente en la cuestión migratoria, nos juntamos virtualmente y nos empezamos a preguntar por la situación particular de millones de migrantes mujeres, hombres, niños, niñas y adolescentes, del continente o provenientes de otras latitudes, todos sujetos en movimiento.
